OpenAI is being sued by the parents of 16-year-old Adam Raine, who committed suicide with the help of ChatGPT, which gave him step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

It never even occurred to me that ChatGPT could be used for something like this but OpenAI did, and say they have safeguards to prevent something like this. Clearly, the teen found a way around those safeguards and now he’s gone.
