A man who came to New York City from Venezuela just two months ago has been arrested six times and faced 14 different criminal charges.

Daniel Hernandez Martinez, 29, arrived in the U.S. on June 27 and committed his first crime the very next day, according to the New York Post. He has randomly attacked at least three strangers and two police officers.

Martinez's alleged crimes began at a Costco in Brooklyn. He apparently stole a jar of Nutella, slippers, hates, shoes, Gillette razor blades, and Dove body wash. He was charged with petty larceny and subsequently released.

He allegedly robbed a Duane Reade in Manhattan on July 6, stealing a "tool kit," per the report. However, his crimes quickly escalated from stealing to assault. The very next day, a security guard tried to stop him at a Duane Reade from stealing a bag of chips and toothpaste. He apparently "pulled out a large knife and advanced toward the undercover officer" while yelling unintelligibly.

He was charged with menacing, but he, again, was released on his own recognizance. The report noted that he was released because the charge was not bail-eligible.

On July 31, he attacked a man named Jeffrey Bradac, 52, with a bike tire in front of the Row Hotel. It appears that the attack was completely unprovoked. Bradac, a journalist, was apparently in the area to report on the migrant crisis. He had interviewed Martinez before, and he was surprised when he was attacked.

Bradac said he "did a nice interview with the guy." He has amassed a substantial following on social media, where he posts updates about migrants.

“He hit me with the bike tire and I called police,” Bradac said. “Then, he jumped the Dumpster and a really fit cop ran after him but the guy got away.”

Last month, Martinez apparently attacked a woman in Midtown, according to the police. He allegedly grabbed the woman by the hair and dragged her across the floor and kicked her. Court documents indicate that he was charged with menacing, assault, criminal mischief, and weapon possession.

Three days after the incident, he was arrested for menacing and threatening someone with a chain. And four days after that, he was arrested for using a metal pipe to break locks to steal bicycles in Times Square.

“He’s been wreaking havoc,” a cop with more than 20 years on the job said.

“This is not an isolated incident. These migrants are getting arrested quite often here, and we really don’t know who they are. They really don’t have ID. They’re not being vetted properly, but some of them are committing some of the most violent crimes here.”

The report stated that prosecutors sought $10,000 bail and $10,000 bond for Martinez's assault on the police officer, but the judge decided to set it at $5,000 instead. Martinez was subsequently sent to Rikers Island.
