During a speech on Friday, President Joe Biden continued advocating for a ban on so-called assault weapons, but BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales offered a pointed response to the president's gun control advocacy: "Come and take it, Joe."

The conservative media personality said that she had been at a firing range honing her shooting skills. She shared a short video that featured footage of her firing off a few rounds as well as a photograph of a target she had apparently utilized during the shooting session.

"While Dictator Biden was telling an audience we need to ban AR-15s, I was at the range sharpening my skills. Come and take it, Joe," Gonzales tweeted, adding an American flag emoji.

Someone responded to her post by tweeting, "You like killing people?"

"If they are a physical threat to my family? Absolutely," Gonzales replied.

"What do you need that gun for?" someone else asked.

"Because it exists," Gonzales replied.

Vice President Kamala Harris earned pushback on social media on Thursday for a tweet in which she declared, "Weapons of war have no place on the streets of a civil society" and called for Congress to approve "an assault weapons ban."

"Your body guards, and dozens of 'civil' agencies like the USDA, the US Dept. of Ed., and the EPA possess the firearms you are calling weapons of war. The reality is you want every citizen disarmed and every government agency armed with these guns," Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky tweeted in response to the vice president.
