A New Jersey concert crowd relentlessly booed far-left Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy last week — and after the singer who invited Murphy onstage scolded the audience, the booing only grew louder.

Brian Kirk, lead singer of Brian Kirk & the Jirks, invited Murphy onstage at the Red Rock Tap + Grill in Monmouth County, Fox News reported. The concert took place last Monday.

Cellphone video shows Murphy wearing what appears to be an American flag around his neck, hugging Kirk and other band members, when the booing overpowered the smattering of cheers.

The singer didn't like the crowd's reaction one little bit.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! What did I tell you guys?" Kirk hollered at audience members while point his finger at them.

"Hey, listen to me!" he added. "Listen to me, he didn’t want to hear that! He’s a buddy of mine! This is not about politics! He’s a friend of mine! Do not do that! Out of respect for my friend, don’t do that!"

Facebook users gave the bandan earful, too.

"Big mistake doing what you did at the show," user Vicky Giglio told the group. "You just sealed your band's fate. ... It's a shame."

When the band shot back with a retort — "Really Vicky? How so?" — Giglio and other users explained it to them:

Fox News said Kirk and Murphy’s office didn't respond to its requests for comment.

While Murphy was narrowly reelected in 2021, he was routed in Monmouth County, claiming only 40% of the vote while Republican Jack Ciattarelli took 59%, the Asbury Park Press reported, citing the Monmouth County Clerk's Office. In 2017, Murphy was elected governor by a double-digit margin of victory across the state.

Murphy was criticized last week for signing a bill that gives a tax break to Danish offshore wind developer Orsted for the first of two energy projects it's planning off the Jersey Shore, Fox News said, adding that Republican state Senator Edward Durr put the tax break at nearly $1 billion.

The bill signing came a day after Orsted's Ocean Wind I project received clearance from the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to begin building a wind farm 13 to 15 miles off the coast of Atlantic City and Ocean City, the cable network added.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the project “is likely to adversely affect, but is not likely to jeopardize, the continued existence of any species” of endangered whales, sea turtles, and other animals, the Associated Press reported, adding that it's not likely to “destroy or adversely modify any designated critical habitat.”
