After failing to clinch the House speakership during a vote on Tuesday, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio came up short again during a vote on Wednesday.

Jordan lost a bit of ground in the second round, earning just 199 votes compared to 200 the day before. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) earned 212 votes during each round.

The list of GOP lawmakers who voted for someone other than Jordan on Wednesday included:

Buchanan, Ferguson, Miller-Meeks, and Stauber had each voted for Jordan on Tuesday before voting against him on Wednesday. GOP Reps. Doug LaMalfa of California and Victoria Spartz of Indiana both voted for Jordan on Wednesday after previously voting against him on Tuesday. Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fl.), who missed the vote on Tuesday due to his mother-in-law's funeral, voted for Jordan on Wednesday.

Jordan indicated that he thinks another vote will be held on Thursday, according to Reuters.

The House has been paralyzed since earlier this month when eight Republicans joined with Democrats to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from the speakership. It had taken McCarthy a whopping 15 rounds of voting to finally win the gavel earlier this year.
