NextImg:EXPOSING Biden’s responsibility for deaths at the border

Two bodies likely belonging to illegal immigrants were found this past Wednesday, one of whom was recovered near the buoys Governor Greg Abbott had installed to protect the border.

It is believed the bodies belonged to men attempting to cross the border. The Mexican government was the first to inform the public about the incident and linked the deaths to the buoys.

Governor Greg Abbott refuted claims that his border buoy caused the deaths in a statement to the Washington Examiner.

“The Mexican government is flat-out wrong. To be clear, preliminary information points to the drowning occurring before the body was even near the barriers. The Texas Department of Public Safety previously reported to Border Patrol the dead body floating upstream from the barrier in the Rio Grande,” Abbott told the Examiner.

Sara Gonzales of the "News & Why It Matters," has her own solution.

“It’s just so frustrating to see this and somehow see Greg Abbott getting heat,” she says, continuing, “when the most reasonable solution that I can come up with is to stop encouraging people to make a dangerous journey.”

Gonzales notes that the installation of the buoys was preceded by other illegal immigrant deaths.

“It’s not going to be the last, with or without the barriers, because it is dangerous, and we need to stop incentivizing them to come. And that seems like really common sense and logical to me,” she says.

Eric July is in agreement.

“To act as if this is just innocents embarking on a journey that should’ve been easy, and there’s no in between, that’s just not true man.”
