A 14-year-old boy was charged with robbing 11 people at gunpoint in a span of 45 minutes in Chicago last week.

The boy is suspected of robbing a 29-year-old man in the 1100 block of West Taylor Street around 1:50 a.m. July 25, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, adding that five minutes later he allegedly stole belongings from a 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man a few blocks away in the 1100 block of South Canal Street.

Then around five minutes later, he allegedly robbed a 36-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man in the 700 block of West Taylor Street, the paper said, citing police.

Police told WFLD-TV the boy then took property at gunpoint from:

Police took the teen into custody several hours later in the 2400 block of West Belmont Avenue after he was identified as one of several suspects involved in the robberies, the station said.

The Sun-Times said the boy faces multiple charges ranging from felony armed robbery to misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal trespass to a vehicle.

Another string of early-morning armed robberies took place in just over three hours Tuesday — between 2:50 a.m. and 6:05 a.m. — across several South Side Chicago neighborhoods, police told WFLD in a separate story.

Police told the station a group of three to seven males — described as wearing black clothing and ski masks — approached victims at gas stations, took their property at gunpoint, and fled in a silver/gray Hyundai Sonata.
