In the 1992 “Mr. Belvedere” SNL sketch, Tom Hanks plays the president of a fan club for the guy who played Mr. Belvedere on the sitcom. And the gag is that the “fans” are lunatics and stalkers who murder Belvedere’s pets, masturbate while watching the show, and write the actor fan letters on death certificates.
Hanks’ character leads the members through a series of mental exercises, “shoulds and shouldn’ts,” to “keep the line between fantasy and reality a little less blurry.”
One member says, “I got one. I should want to say hi to Mr. Belvedere nicely; I shouldn’t want to keep him in a big jar in my basement.”
To which Hanks’ character, with some annoyance, replies, “All right, that’s great, we understand that. Go on, though. Why shouldn’t you put him in a big jar in your basement?”
And all the member can think of is, “Because…his breath would fog up the glass and I wouldn’t be able to see him?”
The joke is, you can teach “should” and “shouldn’t” to psychos and morons, but if they don’t understand why they should or shouldn’t do something, the exercise is a pointless endeavor.
When one of Elon Musk’s “bright young” DOGE staffers was exposed as a proud self-proclaimed racist troll who lectured against intermarriage, advocated the repeal of the Civil Rights Act, expressed pleasure at the idea of mass genocide of Middle East Jews and Muslims, and said America must “normalize Indian hate,” the debate over the Naziboi’s fate quickly descended into a back-and-forth over “cancel culture.”
Christ, I’m so tired of that shit.
After the hate-filled DOGE troll resigned, JD Vance was like, “No! Bring him back! We must not cancel that boy. Cancel culture shall rend the very fabric of the Republic.” Then Trump was like, “I agree with JD! No canceling! The DOGE Nazi should be retained.”
So, he’s a “very fine person,” apparently.
Finally Musk ran an X poll: Should the DOGE racist be rehired?
And how do you think Musk’s fan base voted? When it hit 80 percent “rehire him,” Musk replied, “He will be brought back. To err is human, to forgive divine” (as I celebrate my one-year anniversary of a lifetime X ban over a single infraction during an argument with a Holocaust denier, I don’t exactly find those words sincere).
BTW, Elon, why not run a poll that asks, “Did the Holocaust happen?”?
Why not do that, Musky? I mean, are you afraid that such a poll would expose the true character of the people you relied on to decide the fate of the DOGE Nazi?
So the DOGE guy was rehired, and rightists celebrated a win over CANCELLATION!!!!
“MAGA’s love of racist trolls is like Democrat love of open borders. You stubbornly stick with it no matter the electoral cost.”
Framing the matter as a war against cancel culture, as Vance, Musk, and Trump did, is disingenuous, or at least it would be if their minds were capable of anything but surface activity. They don’t ask “why” (as in, “Why should DOGE not have Nazis?”) because they’re simpletons preaching to simpletons.
The “why” in “why the DOGE Nazi should’ve remained resigned” is this: the fucking midterms, you dipshits.
You’re all on such a childlike high right now, you’re not looking one day past tomorrow. I’ve written about that before, how leftists plot, plan, and gaze years down the line, while rightists have all the attention span of a retarded hummingbird.
Leftists forge foundational change; guys like FDR and LBJ built things, some of which can never be dismantled. But most of what Trump and Musk are doing right now can be reversed by the next administration or halted entirely by the courts or a Democrat Congress. You’re having so much fun being like, “We’re in control of everything! We can say anything without fear. We can be racists! We can be Nazis! Take that, Ibram Kendi. Now our racism is ‘protected,’” you’re not understanding that the LULZ happening today will come back to bite your ass in November next year. It’s only two months into Trump’s second term, and you’ve already gifted the left a new “very fine people” talking point, but one that, unlike the first, is legitimate.
How many more members of Elon’s DOGE troll army will be exposed in the months to come for writing equally foul things? Already there’s a new one: another young DOGE staffer who retweeted the hate-filled rantings of Nick Fuentes and claimed he was “radicalized” by Holocaust-denying Ron Unz.
Remember, in the midterms you won’t be able to rely on a central grotesquerie like Kamala, someone so bad, so foul, so annoying, that your flawed guy wins because the other option is worse. The midterms will be hundreds of individual races.
The House GOP currently has a three-seat majority, you boobs. The DOGE guy’s insults toward Jews, Muslims, Indians, and intermarried couples can make a difference in enough races to saddle Trump with a Democrat Congress…and we all know how well that went for him last time.
Oh, how I wish you’d never discovered “cancel culture” (and you’re hearing that from me, a guy who, to paraphrase Musk’s little Klansman, “was canceled before it was cool”). It’s become such an idiotic debate.
Let’s cut the crap.
First off, everybody loves to “cancel.” Yes, you have NATO-serving Serbian child-killer Kolonel Kurt Schlichter, whose endlessly repeated pre-scripted response is “We conservatives don’t like canceling; we only do it to stop the left from doing it.” But from the moment Andrew Breitbart’s deceptively edited video compelled Obama to fire “racist” black government employee Shirley Sherrod (and you guys cheered; I was there) to Budweiser dropping tranny spokescreature Dylan Mulvaney, you love seeing people you detest booted from government and the private sector.
And that’s fine. The case can be made—indeed I’ll make it—that government employees have a responsibility to not speak with aggressive hostility toward entire demographic groups. The same with brand spokespeople. And expressing your displeasure when a government or corporate cog insults you is a perfectly normal part of being a voter and a consumer.
Had Breitbart’s video of Sherrod not been deceptive, had she been the antiwhite racist falsely depicted, Obama would’ve been correct to fire her. Even if he did so reluctantly, firing her would’ve been the practical move.
Likewise, firing DOGE Nazis is not “cancellation”; it’s preservation. It’s risk vs. reward (the reward of retaining a proud racist vs. the risk in 2026).
But that’s only half the crap; let’s cut the rest: Many of you agree with Musk’s racist trolls, and you support them not out of “principle” but because you enjoy seeing nonwhites enraged by having hatred shoved in their faces by those in power, just as whites have been enraged for the same reason in years past.
Your “principle” is not free speech but revenge (any day now expect Schlichter to say, “Conservatives don’t like being racist; we only do it to stop the left from doing it”).
Own it. Don’t hide behind some phony “cancel culture” debate.
Own it, because you’ll own the losses it brings. You can’t compete with the left on this one. The American left’s spent a century baking its racism into permanent institutions, like academia and the civil rights syndicate. Your guys are just anonymous online trolls. You think that puts them on equal footing with Soros?
It’s so adorable that you think that.
Leftist antiwhite racism can be used as a tool by GOPs, something to exploit to win over white centrist and working-class voters. Yet you’ll gladly alienate those voters by trying to out-racist the left just to get your petty “revenge.”
And while leftist antiwhite racism plays poorly among swing voters, the left is still better practiced at showing restraint, at couching its racism in “respectable” academic terms. Your guys just say, “Kill niggers! Holohoax!” Your trolls are unpredictable, young, and stupid, raised by their heroes, Trump and Musk, to have zero filter. Liability is too soft a word for what they represent.
And Darren Beattie? “Competent white men must be in charge!” Blacks are a “feral population!” “Offer them Air Jordans” in exchange for “voluntary sterilization.” Beattie’s role in State was temporary because Trump’s people knew that he’s (in the words of a D.C. insider friend) “unconfirmable.” But Beattie will remain in State, in a position that doesn’t require confirmation.
And you can’t even see how that’s gonna hurt you in the midterms. Beattie’s the racial version of the “rape can’t lead to pregnancy” loons who cost the GOP the Senate in 2012.
Beattie’s a liability who’s not worth the 2026 risk. Oh, but to you he is. Because you love these guys.
Christ…MAGA’s love of racist trolls is like Democrat love of open borders. You stubbornly stick with it no matter the electoral cost.
Only the dumbest people on earth ape the losers following an election win.
I won’t even go into how Trump’s “rescue” of rapist Andrew Tate will play in 2026.
So have your revenge. Support the trolls. Don’t think about the midterms. Don’t think about the fact that while centrist voters don’t like antiwhite racism, they really don’t like antiblack and anti-Jew racism. Forget the lesson of Franklin, Tenn. Deep red, 78 percent white, Dems don’t even bother to run there. In 2023 Nazi GOP alderman Gabrielle Hanson (the kind of crazy-eyed MAGA blonde you can’t avoid in Trump circles these days) decided to take on the GOP mayoral incumbent Ken Moore, an old-timey, down-homey retired MD.
Hanson ran like a Musk wet dream; her campaign events featured sieg-heiling, swastika-wearing goose-steppers.
She lost by 80 percent. More important, her candidacy drove voter turnout against her; there were four times more votes cast than in previous Franklin elections…by Republicans seeking to defeat the Republican Nazi.
Record turnout in a GOP town to defeat a GOP Nazi.
Last year the GOP ran three openly Nazi candidates (two black, one white) in statewide races. All three lost. I have a bet with a friend if the party will top that number in 2026.
Will anything be learned?
Will anyone realize that the things Musk and Trump are doing right now will mean nothing if the Dems retake Congress and win subpoena power?
On principle I agree with DOGE. I like the actions being taken, but I despise the people taking them. Not just Trump, whose impishness is too childishly mercurial to be seen as malevolent (“annex Canada! Seize Greenland! Invade Gaza, kick out the Palies, and build hotels!”), but Musk and his crew are the worst humans on earth. Nazis, deniers, racist trolls. And the fact that we’ve entrusted them with the most important work in government means we’ve already lost. It means we either don’t have non-Nazis for the job, or we do but the current rightist climate shuts them out.
This is our doom. The very people doing good things today are simultaneously sowing the seeds of the end and reversal of those good things in 2026 and 2028.
That’s what happens when you put the worst people in charge.
You get the worst outcome.
