Joe Biden was sold to voters on false pretenses in so many ways it’s almost hard to keep track.
Perhaps the most notable, though, is that he was Middle-Class Joe who was going to restore trust in government — when, of course, his family profiteered off his position and influence in grotesque ways for years.
When this was pointed out, Democrats and the media for the longest time said, “How can you be so mean to Hunter Biden?”
Now, we still hear some of that, but the line of defense has retrenched considerably to implicitly concede, Yeah, Joe knew about this, Yeah, the Bidens got Chinese money, Yeah, Joe participated in calls, but, Dammit, you still don’t have a check made out directly to Joe Biden.
Even if no such check ever emerges, there’s no doubt that Joe Biden is corrupt.
I’m here telling you all this by way of pointing out that our coverage of Biden’s corruption has been robust, extensive, and incisive, and I’m hoping you’ll contribute to our latest webathon to help us keep at it.
If for no other reason, do it as a gesture of appreciation for Andy McCarthy alone.
There are plenty of other reasons, though. Our intrepid reporter Brittany Bernstein has been all over developments from the Comer investigation.
If you’ve ever wondered what to make of the latest news, you can turn to Charlie, or Noah, or me, among others.
But Andy McCarthy, our antidote to the Big Guy, has been all over this from the beginning, and will be all over it until the end, and will be all over whatever is the next thing.
If you value seeing Andy’s pieces here and appreciate the platform we give his absolutely indispensable work, please contribute any amount, from $5 to $5,000.
Every farthing advances the cause, and is celebrated here at NR HQ.
What can I say about Andy, by the way? It’s not fair for someone to be this knowledgeable, this prolific, and this acute.
I witnessed a legendary legal luminary joking with Andy before an event not too long ago that the only thing that can explain his output is that he’s secretly powered by ChatGPT.
I can count on maybe two fingers what I remember Andy getting wrong the last several years. He’s been right about nearly everything up to and including Scherzer and Verlander being bad investments for the New York Mets.
If he says a fact pattern or new development is bad — it’s bad. If he says it’s a nothingburger — it’s a nothingburger.
He can explain the nearly inexplicable and has an uncanny sense of where things are going.
Most importantly, he is utterly fearless. Some of us say we don’t care what critics say about us, but somewhere inside . . . we do. Not Andy. He’ll run roughshod over the conventional wisdom on something, and blithely watch the center-left legal commentariat lose their minds, and, when warranted, happily tell Republicans they are being stupid.
He’s a one-of-a-kind, whose voice is taken seriously across the political spectrum and moves opinion on important questions.
If you agree and value seeing his nearly daily articles here, please help us get to our goal of $50,000.
At the end of the day, the work of Andy, and everyone else here, shows that — at a time of irrationality and tribalism — the facts and reason aren’t our enemies; in fact, they are key tools in determining the truth, making our case, and persuading others.
Thanks to him and his colleagues, we’ve had you covered all along on the Biden scandal, with surely much, much more to come.
