The Trump administration is firing the intelligence officials who allegedly participated in sexually explicit discussions in an internal chat board.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is terminating the employment and revoking the security clearances of intelligence employees who were involved in obscene workplace chatrooms on the National Security Agency’s internal platform.
“There are over 100 people from across the intelligence community that contributed to and participated in… what is really just an egregious violation of trust. What to speak of, like basic rules and standards around professionalism,” Gabbard told Fox News’s Jesse Watters Tuesday night.
Gabbard promised to hold the employees accountable after conservative activist Christopher Rufo first exposed the group chat and its lewd contents. He shared the group chat messages Monday on X and in a story for City Journal. Rufo obtained the messages from one current and one former NSA official who provided chat logs from its “Intelink” messaging platform.
The group chat featured extremely graphic conversations about transgender procedures, polyamory, and sexual fetishes. The pornographic group chat conversations go back two years and include extremely detailed conversations about various transgender operations and living with them afterwards.
The NSA employees used internal LGBT employee groups to hold the conversations during work hours as the agency’s leadership backed all kinds of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs during the Biden administration, Rufo reported.
Rufo also first reported on Gabbard’s memo Tuesday to fire all of the employees involved. Gabbard’s quick action comes as the Trump administration works to remove diversity, equity, and inclusion programs from the federal government and terminate all federal DEI employees.
“These disgusting chat groups were immediately shut down when @POTUS issued his [executive order] ending the DEI insanity the Biden Admin was obsessed with. Our IC must be focused on our core mission: ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people,” Gabbard said on X.
The Trump administration is taking broader action to combat DEI across corporate America and institutions of higher education where the progressive programs are common. Critics of DEI believe it obsesses over demographic characteristics and group separation over individual achievements and color blindness.
President Trump is taking a similar approach to gender ideology and the issue of biological males competing in women’s sports. Trump has signed executive orders to restore the gender binary, ban harmful transgender procedures for minors, bar transgender people from serving in the military, and prohibit males from playing in women’s sports.
A former Democratic lawmaker, the GOP-controlled Senate confirmed Gabbard earlier this month after Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) and Vice President JD Vance vouched for Gabbard behind the scenes and won over GOP skeptics. Over the past few years, Gabbard transformed from a progressive ally of Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) to a prominent campaign surrogate for President Donald Trump, culminating in her current role.
