NextImg:The Corner: Trump Starts Hot, Biden Finishes Cold

Some recent columns of mine in other outlets:

In the New York Post:

Donald Trump is doing it differently this time. In 2017, Trump hit Washington like a tornado, overturning and scattering things in his path — but much of what he attempted never got done. Proposals that were rushed out half-baked didn’t make it through Congress or survive bad press or challenges in the courts. Investigations hobbled Trump’s White House. The wall didn’t get built. Trump gave Paul Ryan his tax bill and Mitch McConnell his judges, but he wasn’t prepared to put a lot of his own ideas into practice.

Monday, Trump hit the ground running.

In the Telegraph:

Now that he’s back in the White House, Trump is gearing up to issue a lot of pardons. That immediately included some 1,500 pardons of January 6 defendants. Democrats will howl. And they will have a point. But Joe Biden has cut their legs out from under them. And they haven’t yet done enough to get clear of responsibility for their role in enabling Biden’s sins. They defended him at every turn for four years. They knew the Frankenstein’s monster they were creating. It requires more than amnesia to absolve that.

In the Daily Mail:

Joe Biden saved his greatest disgrace for last. On Monday, he pre-emptively pardoned his three siblings and their two spouses for any potential crimes they may have committed over the last decade…In truth, it’s one final embarrassment for those who supported the man as if he were honest and decent…The last-second timing of the announcement – released minutes before Trump’s swearing-in and as the crowd, including the outgoing President, was already seated in the Capitol Rotunda – was an affront to democracy.
