There is something extremely fitting about Donald J. Trump’s adding a ballroom to the White House. At Bedminster and especially Mar-a-Lago, he plays the role of host with real relish by every account. He wants guests to feel impressed, happy, and at ease.
And I have to say he’s chosen an absolutely superlative architect in Jim McCrery, CEO of McCrery Architects. Jim McCrery is one of the leading practitioners of classical architecture and has restored and built some of America’s most beautiful churches of the last few decades. He also has done many grand civic projects and private commissions. He restored Mary, Mother of God parish in Washington, D.C., which was until recently the home of the diocese’s most famous Traditional Latin Mass.
The traditionalist blog Rorate Caeli has a bit more on his work on churches.
