“All hell is going to break out” if the remaining Israeli hostages are not returned home by January 20, Inauguration Day in the United States, President-elect Donald Trump said today.
“There is a light shining over the world. We are trying to help very strongly in getting the hostages back, as you know — Israel, the Middle East,” Trump said.
When a delegation of hostage families came to Washington, D.C., last week, they told me that Trump’s forceful messaging about the hostage situation has been helpful. Although President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have worked hard to bring the hostages home, the families added, Trump’s demands and threats have ushered in a new attitude of hope among Israelis. The families wanted to tell Trump to keep up the warnings — and it’s good to see that he has.
