NextImg:The Corner: Trads and Dads: Best Super Bowl Commercials

The Super Bowl had some heartwarming depictions of men this year, and it’s worth mentioning them when they occur.

The State of Israel sponsored an ad vowing to bring home the many fathers held by Hamas. Beautiful stuff. What’s more, during the second half of the Super Bowl, we learned that two hostages had been rescued in an incredible Israeli operation. More from Caroline Downey on that here.

A good man with a mustache and his Clydesdales saves the day:

Kawasaki’s mullet-bequeathing side-by-sides are one of those things that make men say, “Hell yeah, brother.”

A father sees his daughter’s disappointment and surprises her and her grandfather with a moment all their own in a tearjerker of a Kia ad:

A traditional Ghanaian family with a boy who dreams of playing in the NFL one day: themes of American cultural influence, men raising boys to be men, and the many paths to becoming an American.

More mustaches:

Happy memories with Dad out on the water, and the democratization of boat ownership from Bass Pro. Also, the guys in the commercial actually look like they own and use the boats:

Chris Pratt and mustaches:

While there were some woke-ish ads, dads — and men generally — got their due this Super Bowl. Those mullets were sick.
