Tim Scott was okay on Meet the Press yesterday, but allowed himself to get cornered on accepting the 2024 election results, or at least got in a position where he seemed evasive. It wasn’t a particularly reassuring performance, given how much more intense the pressure will be if he’s on Trump’s ticket.

Doug Burgum, meanwhile, was more sure-footed in a similar exchange with Jake Tapper on CNN. (Trump’s conduct after the 2020 election will be very awkward for any Trump pick who hasn’t been aboard election denialism from the beginning.
