Left-wingers have been waging war against the Supreme Court — but they’re also counting on it. My column today goes into their mixed messages:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the left-wing Democrat from Detroit, scalded the Supreme Court for allowing President Donald Trump to proceed, pending further developments, with layoffs and reorganization in federal agencies. “This illegitimate SCOTUS continues to do Trump’s bidding,” she tweeted, adding, “We need to end this court’s corrupt grip on our democracy.”

But as I go on to note, in that case she wanted the court to exercise more power and not less. And not just in that case, either.
