Chinese Communist Party-linked officials bought the blueprints to one of America’s leading STEM high schools, Parents Defending Education alleged in a National Review report today. In exchange for $3.6 million, Thomas Jefferson High School in Fairfax County, Virginia, handed over to three Chinese entities TJ’s curricula, floor plans, and IP.

PDE had to pay the school district $17,815 to access the public records. The district originally quoted PDE $35,910 to access information about the CCP’s influence in the public school, after which PDE trimmed its records request. PDE paid $13,930 for an initial FOIA and $3,885 for a subsequent FOIA requesting details about the nature of the relationship between the school, its nonprofit, and CCP-linked organizations. This suggests that there exist thousands of documents related to the case that have still not been released to the public — what might they reveal?
