Today is International Women’s Day. Naturally, leftists celebrated men who claim they are women.
The LGBTQ-focused publication PinkNews published an article to honor “10 queer women who’ve changed the world in the last year.” Four of the featured individuals are male.
One is “Adore Delano,” who competed on the television series RuPaul’s Drag Race. Delano has said that “gender isn’t a real thing — that it’s just something they came up with to categorize and control people.”
Yet Delano has spoken about experiencing “the feelings of just being an absolute other gender that I did not physically see in the mirror.” He has adopted several different gender identities. Delano wrote “I am non-binary” on social media in 2018, adding, about a year later, “I don’t mind which pronouns [people] use while addressing me.” Then, in 2023, Delano released a video on social media to address “questions about my gender,” stating, “I am transitioning, and I kept it really of hush-hush the first three months because I wanted to go through the beginning stages of the puberty privately.” Delano stated the intention to begin surgeries in November of that year.
Another alleged “woman” featured by PinkNews is “Emily Bridges,” a British male cyclist who set a national record in the junior men’s category in 2018. He then began gender-hormone therapy and won in a women’s division. As Reduxx reported, Bridges “placed highly in a male category” only weeks before attempting to enter another competition in the women’s category. Last year, Bridges was prevented from competing in British women’s cycling competitions when British Cycling, the national governing body of the sport, changed its policies on transgender participants; Bridges called British Cycling’s decision a “violent act” that is “furthering a genocide” against transgender people.
So International Women’s Day is yet another opportunity for progressives to cheer that some of the best women are men.
