The forces of diversity, equity, and inclusion might seem invincible, but they are not. When higher-ed leaders with some backbone resist, they can win.

In today’s Martin Center article, Jenna Robinson writes about a victory in North Carolina.

The UNC Board of Governors has directed that no institution in the system use compelled speech (particularly “diversity” statements) in hiring and promotion. Nevertheless, a committee and NC State was poised to implement a new policy that would make “diversity” a key consideration. But when the Board’s policy was pointed out, the committee “paused” its efforts. Never to resume, let us hope. Eternal vigilance is required.
