Two things can be true at the same time: When it comes to criminal allegations, Brand is entitled to due process of law. And when it comes to his caddish sexual behavior — much of which has long been a matter of public record —Brand should be held accountable. There are those on the post–Me Too right who will say, “If it’s not criminal, then it’s not a problem.” Curiously, this is the same sentiment that prevailed on the pre–Me Too left.
