MICROPLASTICS COULD BE a factor in driving up cases of osteoporosis worldwide, according to recently published research. The study reveals that when these tiny plastic particles enter the body, they disrupt the functioning of bone marrow stem cells, which are essential for maintaining and repairing bone tissue.

What can’t they do? Gut and metabolic dysfunction, endocrine disruption, chronic lung inflammation, developmental delays, and infertility.

Since microplastics are found in air, food, water, and dust, “intake is inevitable.”

They’ve pervaded every ecosystem in the world, from coral reefs to Antarctic ice. And they’ve infiltrated the human body, lodging themselves in everything from brain tissue to reproductive organs.
