Now-former speaker McCarthy was cast out of his position today by 216 votes, only eight of which came from Republicans. McCarthy’s Gaetz-led opposition played right into the hands of Democrats who of course support division and chaos in the Republican Party.&nbsp;

Even though Gaetz accused McCarthy of “working with Democrats,” he could only oust the speaker with widespread Democratic support. By Gaetz’s logic, it’s apparently okay to collaborate with Democrats when publicity stunts depend on it but not when the federal government needs funding.
