NextImg:The Corner: Kate Middleton for POTUS

In her first public appearance since undergoing chemotherapy, Princess Kate once again showed the West what dignified leadership looks like.

Her first stop? Southport — the coastal English town that was shaken over the summer by the horrific stabbings of three young girls — where she visited the victims’ families. Kate grieved with them, and she offered the first responders words of gratitude for their service on that fateful day.

Meanwhile, America’s princess, Kamala Harris, repeatedly fumbled the bag in her responses to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. It would have been so easy: She could have gone to North Carolina and thanked the rescue teams for their efforts post-Helene and called on FEMA to do more in the region. In response to Milton, she could have saluted Florida’s readiness (even President Biden did that) and ensured the federal government’s standby support.

But, no — instead, Kamala chose to drink a beer (seemingly for the first time) on late-night TV and chide Florida governor Ron DeSantis for ignoring her calls.

How I long for the days when the Office of the President of the United States communicated dignity, civility, and grace. (And, it must be said, Kate sure knows how to pull off a brown jacket, unlike Kamala.)

Who am I voting for in this election? Kate Middleton for POTUS.
