I see that Joe Biden is restoring norms and decency once again:

For those who are wondering: The reason that this is “quite the image” is that Biden is the president of the United States, and he thus sits at the head of the branch of government that contains the agencies that mediate American labor disputes — and that will soon mediate these “union officials'” “efforts to organize workers at Tesla and Toyota.” That Biden has been photographed wearing one of those union’s jerseys is presumptively disrespectful to the rule of law. There is no such thing in America as an “independent agency.” The executive branch enforces the law. Joe Biden is in charge of the executive branch. In and of itself, his behavior is inappropriate.
But once one gets into the specifics? Hoo boy. If the National Labor Relations Board is able to argue that even the slightest impropriety might have caused a unionization drive to fail, it will do so with great enthusiasm. Last year, the NLRB ordered Amazon to hold a revote on the absurd grounds that the existence of an unmarked USPS mailbox in front of the company’s warehouse had caused the workers there to oppose unionization by a ratio of more than 2 to 1. One can only imagine the nuclear explosions that we would see if, after a political fundraising event at Toyota, a Republican president of the United States were photographed wearing a t-shirt that read “Toyota C-Suite Retreat: Anti-Union Drive 2023.” When it suits it, the NLRB considers jokes to represent intimidation. But Joe Biden in a UAW t-shirt? I’m sure we’ll hear precisely nothing.
