There are extraordinary scenes in the skies over Israel right now, comparable, you’d have to think, to what Britons witnessed during the Battle of Britain:

Back then, as now, a modern, liberal country and devoted ally of the United States was under assault from a dictatorship that hated the West. One hopes that this time, too, the attacker doesn’t have the resources to achieve success.
