The House Majority PAC (HMP), a spending group aligned with House Democratic leaders, announced on Monday the creation of a $50 million “Win Them Back Fund” aimed at pulling working-class voters back into the Democratic fold in 2026.
The group’s multi-million-dollar effort will target working-class Americans who drifted right during the 2024 election by emulating the political strategy used by successful Trump-district Democrats like Representatives Jared Golden of Maine and Don Davis of North Carolina. “One of the major roadblocks we have faced as a party has been declining support among a multi-racial group of working class voters,” the group said in a February 3 memo.
The fund will focus primarily on economic messaging and will invest resources into research, voter registration and mobilization efforts, and traditional advertising efforts via streaming platforms, broadcast, and direct mail. The group will also explore partnerships with content creators as part of a broader strategy that acknowledges “how consumption habits have changed drastically with these target voters,” according to the memo.
The new fund comes as elected Democrats across the country are struggling to unite behind a coherent and persuasive anti-Trump message heading into the next election cycle. For House Majority PAC, the economy is the message and working-class voters are the target.
Democrats need to flip just three seats next cycle to retake the House. In February of the off-year, HMP is already signaling it will go on offense in 14 Republican-held districts where they believe Democrats could make gains with working class voters in 2026: Nick Begich (R., Alaska), Eli Crane (R., Ariz.), David Valadao (R., Calif.), Ken Calvert (R., Calif.), Gabe Evans (R., Colo.), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R., Iowa), Zach Nunn (R., Iowa), John James (R., Mich.), Ryan Mackenzie (R., Pa.), Rob Bresnahan (R., Pa.), Scott Perry (R., Pa.) Monica De La Cruz (R., Texas), Jen Kiggans (R., Va.), Derrick Van Orden (R., Wis.).
