In case you missed it, National Review exclusively reported last Thursday that the Department of Health and Human Services and other relevant departments would soon begin the rule-making process to prohibit the federal government from directly funding sex-trait modifications for minors through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Following our news report, HHS and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services filed a proposed rule titled “Medicaid Program; Prohibition on Federal Medicaid Funding for Sex Trait Modification Procedures Furnished to Children and Youth (CMS-2451),” according to the White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. The text of the proposed rule is not yet publicly available while it’s under regulatory review.
