Haley won the D.C. primary and the Vermont primary.
One exit poll in Virginia showed that 51 percent of Haley voters had a positive view of Joe Biden. That’s a significantly higher percentage of Biden-approvers than in voters overall. This one piece of data tends to confirm Steve Kornacki’s thesis (which Charlie Cooke drew my attention to) — that there is a set of Haley voters that are just highly motivated anti-Trump voters. And they are using her campaign as just another occasion to express their loathing and rejection of Donald Trump.
Beyond those voters, Haley’s campaign has demonstrated the truly divided nature of the party. Anti-populists are a coherent faction of the Republican Party — including, as one would guess, huge numbers of elected Republicans and institutional players. But Trump, with all his obvious faults and baggage, is beating them handily.
