The College Board is now administering most of its Advanced Placement exams online, and soon they will do it with all of them. Is this a good idea?
In today’s Martin Center article, Jovan Tripkovic argues that it’s a very bad one.
The big problem ought to be apparent. As Tripkovic writes, “Online exams have become fertile ground for cheating and plagiarism. Given the presence of AI tools, internet access, and social-media platforms for sharing answers, it’s now easier than ever to cheat.”
AP exams used to be a reliable measure of academic merit. Sadly, they became tainted with leftist ideology. Now, the ease of online cheating makes the whole enterprise questionable.
Just one more way that academic integrity is crumbling.
