NextImg:The Corner: George Washington U Students Believe Charlie Kirk Got What He Deserved

God bless Kristan Hawkins for trying with these kids.

F***ing Nazis deserve to die, and Charlie Kirk was one, a student at George Washington University told Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins last week. Kristan was continuing her own prove-I’m-wrong “Abortion Is Oppression” tour on abortion. She was on another campus encountering students when Charlie was murdered.

At GWU — one of the most expensive colleges in the country last time I checked ($70K a year) — the girl claims that Kirk wanted to kill gay and trans people, which he didn’t. Watch a few videos (I’ve linked to more than a few since his murder — take a tour), and you see how compassionate he was during campus exchanges with people struggling with gender identity and sexual orientation.

The student also believes Charlie deserved to be killed because when faced with a hypothetical question — a cruel, graphic one — about his own daughter, he said that he would want her to deliver the baby if she conceived after being raped, even at the age of ten.

Charlie explained that human rights are human rights, and he pointed out that you can’t tell the difference between the ultrasound of a baby conceived in rape and one of a baby conceived in love (or, at least, not rape). That’s because they are both human. And we don’t do evil in response to evil. I’m pretty sure in another similar exchange I heard him say when pressed to defend his position: Because in our family, we don’t kill.

Why do these students so often have to go to extremes? Most abortions don’t happen because ten-year-old children were raped.

Credit to the students who are honest — they want to have sex without the responsibility that may come from it.

Human rights? Please don’t talk to me about such heavy things. It’s not like I’m in college to pursue truth or anything noble like that.

Meanwhile, God bless Kristan for trying with these kids. And for having the backs of the students who want to defend the innocent who may come from a drunken Saturday night.

We all make mistakes. Why should a child have to die because we don’t want to face reality?

Do pray for peaceful exchanges on campuses and elsewhere. Students for Life is no stranger to hostile and even violent feedback. In recent days, a woman holding a child flipped over one of their tables at Harvard and a shopper ripped off signs from their “Stop Pharmacy Abortions” display at a Walmart in Colorado.
