Well, it’s your Friday evening news dump on how badly we mishandled the pandemic.

It’s bad that Fauci is in on it — that he participated in all the lies about masks and allowed the public’s limited energies to be so devoted to dubious medical interventions that were nonetheless highly injurious to public life, particularly for children.

But what’s worse is that nobody is making an issue of it in this campaign, in part because Trump never had the courage to challenge Fauci more forcefully.

Front and center in the 2024 campaign should be a debate about how to reform the Centers for Disease Control and other government institutions that fund and regulate scientific endeavors going forward. We’re not getting it, and it’s a damn shame.
