I’m very bullish on Vance’s chances in tonight’s debate — he’s an agile and incisive communicator and probably won’t be asked anything that hasn’t come up repeatedly in his extensive interactions with the press already.

I’m not as impressed with Walz, but he, in his way, can be a forceful talker and will come prepared (the only one of the four candidates on the two national tickets who can’t be bothered to prepare for debates is Donald Trump). Regardless of how he fares, though, the media surely will grasp at any reason to declare the Minnesota governor the winner.
