When our campus protesters take action, they unwittingly reveal a great deal about themselves, particularly how poorly they’ve been educated.
Consider, for instance, the treatment dished out to former Republican congressman and military veteran Allen West when he spoke at St. Louis University. He recounts the nasty business in this article.
West was to speak about the conflict between Hamas and Israel. Predictably, some students thought they were entitled to keep him from giving his talk and continually interrupted him.
West writes, “About 10 minutes into [the presentation], the usual suspects began their ritualistic chanting. This time, it was ‘No bigots on campus.’ That’s royal. It appears that since I do not support an Islamic terrorist organization that killed Americans on October 7th, 2023, and still holds Americans hostage, that makes me a bigot. The following chant was the insidious ‘river to the sea’ blather, which solidifies and supports the Hamas charter of extermination of the Jewish people and elimination of the Jewish state.“
So, what does that tell us about these students? It tells us that they have no concept of rational argumentation. All they have available in their minds are ad hominem attacks and empty chants. They are not trying to persuade anyone but merely trying to disrupt their perceived “enemies.”
Educated people don’t behave that way.
The question is, why was their education so utterly deficient? Why do they emote rather than think?
