California officials will debate two bills today that would ban men from participating in women’s sports.

Governor Gavin Newsom, who recently angered progressives when he called male participation in girls’ sports “unfair,” has not commented on the pending legislation. Many will testify today in Sacramento, including Taylor Starling — a female high school athlete who was forced to give up her spot on a girls’ cross-country team to a transgender-identifying male — and The Daily Wire‘s Matt Walsh.

“Girls shouldn’t have to compete with boys or change next to them in locker rooms — this isn’t complicated,” Walsh told Fox News Digital. “Even Gavin Newsom, after sniffing the political wind, now admits it’s unfair — let’s see if California Democrats can stop playing pretend and follow his sudden rediscovery of basic truth.”
