The arrest of the eight Tajik men with potential ties to ISIS is a parable about the perils of a largely open border:
All eight men crossed through the southern border into the U.S., and their criminal backgrounds checks came back clean when they crossed, say two officials familiar with the matter.
At least two of the men crossed the border in spring 2023, and one of those men used the CBP One app, which the Biden administration created to allow migrants to book appointments to claim asylum, those officials say.
It’s hard to exaggerate Biden’s recklessness in letting millions of foreigners from all over the world waltz into the country. Most importantly, it puts the country at risk. It also makes Biden’s reelection campaign a hostage to fortune. If, God forbid, there’s an attack carried out by terrorists who came over the Southern border, it would in all likelihood be the punctuation mark on Biden’s campaign and political career.
