NextImg:The Corner: Ah, Great, the Former FBI Director Tells Us He Didn’t Know What ‘86’ Means

Former FBI director James Comey says he didn’t realize that an image of beach shells spelling out “86 47” could be associated with violence, and interpreted as a threat against President Trump.

(While the term “86” as a verb generally means “to get rid of,” it usually was in the context of taking an item off the menu or refusing to serve the customer. I liked Kat Rosenfield’s joke and the image of waitresses pulling out guns and shooting a meatloaf to death.)

But just a query for the person who chose to spell out that message… “eighty-six” him how? Donald Trump is term-limited, despite his intermittent talk about running for a Constitutionally-barred third term. We all know a third impeachment effort would go nowhere, and never mind Republicans, even some House Democrats are calling Michigan congressman Shri Thanedar’s current push for impeachment hearings “idiotic” and “horrible.”

Yes, Trump and his allies hate Comey, which is why FBI director Kash Patel weighed in, Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem accused Comey of calling for Trump’s assassination, and director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard jumped to appear on Jesse Watters Primetime, and sternly warned:

For Comey to think that we, the American people, are so stupid as to think that he as a former FBI director and former prosecutor and someone who clearly pays attention to what’s going on, would believe his lie that he did not know what this actually was calling for, the dangerousness of this cannot be underestimated.

Trump is not up for reelection, there’s no chance he’s going to get impeached for the foreseeable future, and Trump would never voluntarily resign. So just how do you envision President Trump “taken off the menu,” so to speak?
