A week or so ago, I posted on a piece by Bob Graboyes, in which he took a scalpel to the silly cartoon purporting to show that we need state-imposed “equity” rather than equality and (heaven forbid) liberty.
I’m glad to say that he’s back at it again, this time with a withering attack on the way institutions that the Left has captured are torturing English so they can push their collectivist ideology. Bob’s specific target is the Association of American Medical Colleges, which has put forth a guide for “equitable” language in medical care.
Consider this sentence: “Low-income people have the highest level of coronary artery disease in the United States.”
Under AAMC Newspeak, it must be recast thus: “People underpaid and forced into poverty as a result of banking policies, real estate developers gentrifying neighborhoods, and corporations weakening the power of labor movements, among others, have the highest level of coronary artery disease in the United States.”
Read and savor Graboyes’s dissection of this lunacy.
