Assuming (as I do) that Republicans keep the House, he has just won some job security. As long as he sticks close to President Trump — which he will — he will have enough support in the conference to withstand any rebellion. For that matter, there probably won’t be a rebellion in the first place. In the absence of a Republican president, the fratricidal tendencies of House Republicans would be much less likely to be checked.
