Joe Biden’s announcement that he is not seeking another term as president ranks among the most important and consequential statements from a president in history; you just don’t see many commanders-in-chief who are eligible for another term decide to hang it up.

He didn’t do it on camera. (The president’s doctor says he’s recovering from Covid well.) He didn’t do it in a radio address. No, he did it on Elon Musk’s social media platform, the one that is allegedly dying, no longer popular, supposedly being replaced by other platforms, etc.
