Planned Parenthood says it will sue the Trump administration over a provision in the newly passed megabill that defunds the nonprofit for one year. Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of the abortion provider, made the announcement Thursday.

“Everyone deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care,” she said in a statement. “That’s what we’ve been fighting for the last century — and we’ll never stop. We’ll be suing the Trump administration to stop this unlawful attack. See you in court.”

The bill, which passed the House of Representatives on Thursday after overnight deliberations, now awaits President Donald Trump’s signature. The language includes a provision that prohibits clinics and providers that provide abortions from accepting federal Medicaid funding for any services whatsoever. While the original language in the House-passed bill defunded the organization for ten years, the Senate-passed language scaled the restriction back to one year.

Planned Parenthood has said even within one year, 200 of its 600 centers across the country could be forced to close due to the funding cuts. Leaders in the organization are calling the legislation a “backdoor abortion ban” and blaming Republicans for leaving more than 1 million women without “essential” health care.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, said the reconciliation bill is a huge victory for the pro-life movement. Dannenfelser said as Planned Parenthood crumbles, better and more comprehensive health care for women will emerge through the renewed efforts of the pro-life movement.

“I think today’s win and the Medina win put the wind back in the sails in terms of the winnability of this issue,” Dannenfelser said. “It’s a very popular thing to stop the forced taxpayer funding of abortion businesses in this country.”
