I may be an old soul, but I’m really excited about the new media revolution.
Gen Z — a political force to be reckoned with, as the 2024 presidential election proved — is craving candid conversations and a real reckoning with institutions that they once trusted.
My peers care about authenticity and aesthetics. They are attracted to personalities that feel to them more like friends than pedagogues. As a Gen Z woman who’s already been around the block in media, I hope to air perspectives that, while commonly expressed by my peers, are largely missing from mainstream discourse.
With that, National Review is adapting to meet the moment, expanding our YouTube and social media presence.
I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new show, Locked In, with National Review. Together, we’ll hit all the pressing topics in politics, business, and culture.
Your donation to National Review will directly support this exciting project, which aims to attract new audiences and evangelize them to the conservative cause.
One more thing: I’m not as pessimistic as perhaps some of my fellow conservative commentators. Some folks say New York City is a lost cause; I think that’s hyperbole. The city has problems, to be sure — from toxic progressive governance to the exorbitant cost of living. But blue-collar New Yorkers — the kind you’ll find in mom-and-pop delis, bodegas, and fire houses across the city — aren’t giving up on the place. And neither am I.
After all, this is the city where National Review’s founder, William F. Buckley Jr., put down roots and established our magazine. New York City is in our blood. I’ve not forsaken it. In fact, I’m a proudly cosmopolitan conservative. Engaging with the city’s vibrant social and cultural scene, from comedy clubs to other iconic establishments, is my favorite pastime. As a part of Locked In, we’ll also be exploring this city’s stories and sagas—from the Founders’ history here to Wall Street to Zohran Mamdani.
Please consider contributing to the future of National Review. It’s time to get Locked In.
