Hunter Biden is lashing out at leading Democratic operatives and media personalities for derailing his father’s ill-fated reelection bid and continuing to question whether Joe Biden was in command of the White House during his presidency.
In two separate podcast interviews, Hunter Biden harshly criticized former Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod, CNN host Jake Tapper, the Pod Save America podcast, and other Democratic commentators for doubting his father all along the way.
During an interview with Channel Five, an independent YouTube channel run by comedic interviewer Andrew Callaghan, Biden went on a profanity-laced tirade against his father’s various critics.
“F*** him and everybody around him,” Biden said of George Clooney, whose July 2024 op-ed in the New York Times played an influential role in his father dropping out of the presidential race.
“George Clooney is not a f***ing an actor…He’s a brand,” Biden added.
He also directed his ire at longtime Democratic strategist and commentator James Carville, a frequent guest on MSNBC and CNN.
“James Carville hasn’t won a race in 40 f***ing years,” Biden told Callaghan.
Not to be outdone, Biden said Axelrod “had one success in his political life and that was Barack Obama and that was because of Barack Obama,” not because of Axelrod’s political acumen.
He showed even more contempt for the hosts of Pod Save America, an influential left-wing podcast, for leveraging their work for former President Barack Obama into a lucrative show.
“The Pod Save America guys were junior f***ing speech writers on Barack Obama’s Senate staff who have been dining out on the relationship with him making millions,” Biden added.
He went on to criticize one of his father’s former top advisers, Anita Dunn, for making “40 to 50 million” off the Democratic Party, and then mocked CNN host Jake Tapper, the co-author of bombshell book Original Sin with journalist Alex Thompson. Original Sin is a bestselling book detailing the efforts by Joe Biden’s inner circle to hide the extent of his mental decline from the American people.
“Who is Jake Tapper’s audience?” Biden quipped. “What influence does Jake Tapper have over anything? He has the smallest audience on cable news,” he continued. “His ratings just went to sh*t after he put the book out. They did a two week info-mercial for it.”
In the same interview, Hunter Biden questioned critics who believe his father never should have run for reelection because of his age and worsening mental acuity.
“For some reason, the intelligentsia of the Democratic Party, with 2020 hindsight, believes Joe Biden should have considered not running again, because of their perception that he was too old,” he said.
He slammed the hosts of Pod Save America — former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor — as “four white millionaires dining out on their association with Barack Obama from 16 years ago” and trying to speak for voters in South Carolina and Wisconsin.
Afterwards, he recounted how Joe Biden won the 2020 Democratic primary after losing Iowa and New Hampshire, and then defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. The younger Biden touted his father’s legislative achievements and mocked Axelrod for thinking Joe Biden would struggle to pass bipartisan legislation.
Responding to Hunter Biden, Vietor blamed the Biden family’s arrogance for the return of Donald Trump to the Oval Office.
“It’s good to see that Hunter has taken some time to process the election, look inward, and hold himself accountable for how his family’s insular, dare I say arrogant at times, approach to politics led to this catastrophic outcome we’re all now living with,” Vietor said on X.
Hunter Biden made similar arguments in an interview with former Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison. Harrison released the full interview on his new podcast, At Our Table, after snippets of it made headlines days prior.
“You think Joe Biden was involved in some cover up? You think Jake Tapper’s telling the truth when he says that I was the acting chief of staff of the, of the president?” Biden said of Tapper’s book.
“I was in that White House twelve days over the course of the last two years of the administration. Clearly because I had other things going on.”
Addressing Clooney, Biden dismissed the impact of his opinion on regular Americans in places like Green Bay, Wisconsin, who determined the 2024 election outcome.
“Do you think in middle America that voter in Green Bay, Wisconsin gives a sh** what George Clooney thinks about who she should vote for?” Biden said. He also accused Clooney of being a bad friend to Joe Biden.
“But in that moment, no, he wasn’t. And he didn’t do the right thing. And to say something that is so patently untrue in order to justify what you did afterwards is cowardly. Is weak,” Hunter Biden said.
Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential election in July 2024 after a sustained pressure campaign from Democrats following his disastrous June 2024 presidential debate. Former Vice President Kamala Harris replaced Biden atop the Democratic ticket and she proceeded to lose to Trump last November. Trump’s win propelled the GOP to a 53-47 Senate majority and allowed them to maintain control of the House.
Out of nowhere, Hunter Biden told Channel Five that his father was using Ambien to fall asleep leading up to the debate.
“He flew around the world. He’s 81 years old. He’s tired. They give him Ambien to be able to sleep and he gets up on the stage and looks like a deer in the headlights,” Biden told Callaghan.
He did not go into specifics on when his father consumed Ambien. The sleep aid can lead to increased drowsiness for patients above 70, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
President Biden’s use of Ambien was not disclosed in his annual physical issued in February 2024, which noted the various medications the octogenarian was taking. His physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, plead the Fifth earlier this month instead of answering questions from the House Oversight Committee about Biden’s mental acuity.
Hunter Biden insists his father could have survived his father’s horrendous debate performance if not for the extended public revolt from Democratic insiders.
“Look, that debate was awful. But we could have survived if it weren’t for the fact that people in this, in the Democratic party, the inside elite beltway group of people, were not going to allow it to happen,” he told Harrison.
Hunter Biden put the blame on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) for playing a central role in pushing Joe Biden out of the race.
His two interviews, both published on the one year anniversary of his father dropping out, mark a return to the spotlight for Hunter Biden after his father pardoned him for gun and tax crimes last December.
