Dr. Anthony Fauci secretly visited CIA headquarters to “influence” the agency’s investigation into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to new allegations brought forward by the House coronavirus subcommittee.

Representative Brad Wenstrup (R., Ohio), chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, sent a letter Tuesday to Christi Grimm, inspector general of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, requesting all pertinent documents and communications related to Fauci’s alleged off-the-books meeting at Langley.

The panel is specifically seeking communications relayed among HHS, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the U.S. Marshals Service, which was tasked with protecting and escorting Fauci while he was serving as the president’s chief medical adviser.

“According to information gathered by the Select Subcommittee, Dr. Anthony Fauci, then-director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, played a role in the Central Intelligence Agency’s review of the origins of COVID-19,” Wenstrup wrote. “The information provided suggests that Dr. Fauci was escorted into Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters—without a record of entry—and participated in the analysis to ‘influence’ the Agency’s review. Our goal is to ensure the scientific investigative process regarding the origins of COVID-19 was fair, impartial, and free of alternative influence.”

Wenstrup did not provide a specific date for Fauci’s visit.

“The American people deserve the truth—to know the origins of the virus and whether there was a concerted effort by public health authorities to suppress the lab leak theory for political or national security purposes,” he added, before asking for “information regarding specific movements of Dr. Fauci throughout the pandemic.”

Wenstrup gave Grimm until October 10 to provide the requested documents and information, while additionally requesting she “make Special Agent Brett Rowland available for a voluntary transcribed interview” at a later date.

The letter comes as more evidence and allegations are raised regarding the CIA’s involvement in its Covid-19 origins investigation during the pandemic.

Earlier this month, a CIA whistleblower told Congress the agency paid off six analysts to alter their assessment of Covid’s origins. Agency officials initially determined the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China but altered that conclusion to support a natural-transmission theory, according to the whistleblower.

In June, the U.S. intelligence community declassified a report that stated its agencies, including the CIA, determined the coronavirus “was not genetically engineered” even though they found “biosafety concerns” and “genetic engineering” occurring at the Chinese lab.
