ABC News is parting ways with embattled journalist Terry Moran after he posted a tirade against senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller over the weekend as anti-ICE riots unfolded in Los Angeles.

“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” an ABC News spokesperson told NR.

“At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

Moran, formerly a senior national correspondent, was suspended Sunday, hours after posting the tirade, for violating the network’s objectivity standards. His conduct drew strong condemnation from Miller and other Trump administration officials,

“An ABC journalist [Terry Moran] posted this absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller. It’s dripping with hatred. Remember that every time you watch ABC’s coverage of the Trump administration,” Vice President JD Vance said.

Moran deleted his social media screed, but not before screenshots of it went viral on social media while riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement ensued in Los Angeles and dominated online discourse. Miller, a noted immigration hawk, is one of the Trump administration’s top domestic policy staffers and the president’s homeland security adviser.

“The thing about Stephen Miller is not that he is the brains behind Trumpism. Yes, he is one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy. But that’s not what’s interesting about Miller,” Moran said on X.

“It’s not brains. It’s bile. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater,” Moran added.

“You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.”

Moran recently interviewed Trump about the president’s first 100 days in office. The two went back and forth on immigration policy and tariffs, and Trump addressed controversies surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. During one notable exchange, Trump belittled Moran and said he picked him for the interview because he was unfamiliar with the ABC news journalist.
