A video from January 8, 2024, shows dozens of Palestinian prisoners in Jabalia, in the north of the Gaza Strip, in their underwear, hands tied, crying out against Hamas – all while Israeli soldiers look on. The video is not the only one of its kind to have been published since the Israel-Palestine conflict erupted on October 7, 2023.

Le Monde has collected and analyzed other similar videos shared on social media since the start of Israel's ground offensive in Gaza. We found the Israeli army degraded the Palestinians it detained, in humiliating practices that go against international humanitarian law.
