Rarely has the audience of the Accor Arena in Paris been as in tune with an artist as they were with 34-year-old American rapper Tyler, The Creator. On Sunday, April 27, the multi-talented artist – producer, designer, graphic artist, stylist, director, among others – gave the first of his two concerts in the Parisian venue. His solo performance, set against a backdrop shifting from an industrial zone with containers to the cozy comfort of a living room, thrileld the 20,000 spectators who sang and rapped along with all his tracks for over an hour and a half.

For the occasion, his fans embraced his creative madness, almost all wearing "preppy" clothes, a style associated with students attending prestigious American universities, featuring blazers, ties, loafers and classic skirts. They adapted these to the color code of the day, green, matching the cover of the Los Angeles musician's latest album, Chromakopia.

The concert opened with the martial-toned track "St. Chroma," the chorus of which is sung on the album by Daniel Caesar. Live, it was replaced by the audience forming an extraordinary gospel choir to powerfully belt out: "Can you feel the light inside? Can you feel the fire?" On stage, Tyler, The Creator, whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, wore the attire of the paranoid character created for his album aptly named St. Chroma. He was dressed in a green suit with wide shoulder pads, his face partially hidden behind a black mask and his hair sculpted like a helmet. He danced in step to the military march rhythm that echoed throughout the track.
