A French version of US magazine Time is set to launch later this year, marking the first foreign licensed edition of the publication in its more than 100-year history, its publisher said on Thursday, June 12.
French media group 360BusinessMedia is to produce a 200-page quarterly version of the famous red masthead, combining "original content in French" with selected articles from the US edition. An editorial team will be assembled "in the coming months" before the launch of the French magazine and website at the end of 2025, a statement from the company said.
The Person of the Year, a distinction awarded by the New York-based magazine since 1927, will be the same in both the American and French editions, 360BusinessMedia told Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The French version will have a print run of 100,000 copies and will be distributed in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Monaco. 360BusinessMedia already produces the French edition of another landmark US magazine, Forbes. Time claims a global combined audience of more than 120 million people through its magazine and digital platforms.
