The Russian breakthrough North of Pokrovsk, which took place during the first week of August, has halted. The "rabbit ears" (a nickname referring to the shape of the advance on the interactive map Deepstatemap.live) were cut off by a series of Ukrainian counterattacks, just as this "Russian success" could have weighed on the diplomatic process underway in Alaska.

Crucial for Ukrainian logistics, the T0514 supply road (which connects Dobropillia to Kramatorsk), is no longer under direct fire from Russian infantry groups who had infiltrated the northern tip of the Russian advance, 10 kilometers North of its starting point in the village of Novotroitske. Yet much of the Ukrainian supply to Kramatorsk has already been rerouted farther North, onto the T0510 road.

Geolocated footage published on August 14 and 18 shows how the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped Russian soldiers along a wooded strip Southwest of the hamlet of Petrivka (one kilometer North of the T0514 road). Other footage, published on August 17 and 18, shows Ukrainian troops raising their flag in the center of the village of Zolotyi Kolodiaz after driving out the Russian occupying army from the "left ear."
