Winter officially arrived in Paris on Thursday, November 21, as the first snowflakes of the season fell on the French capital in the late morning. Météo-France, the national weather service, has put the greater Paris region of Ile-de-France under an orange weather alert for snow and ice, which will stay in place until Friday.
Around one to three centimeters of snow are expected to fall in the city over the next two days. Public transport group RATP has warned of possible disruptions to its transport services.
The weather agency says the snowstorm is due to the incoming Storm Caetano. In all, 54 departments are on orange alert. Enjoy pictures of Paris in the snow below.
