The Musée Carnavalet, which tells the story of Paris, is organizing a big festive weekend on Saturday and Sunday with two themes: celebration and commitment, to mark May 17 − the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. On Saturday, visitors can join a museum tour highlighting Parisian history through an LGBTQIA+ lens and participate in quizzes about historical figures who long remained hidden. Sunday is for celebration, with an introduction to dances once popular in Paris's famous guinguettes at 2:30 pm and 4 pm. At 2:30 pm, a cartography creation workshop on the theme of Parisian celebrations will be held to understand the dynamics of these events, from surprise parties to Pride marches. Cl. G.

Taking advantage of the "Angkor Royal Bronzes: Art of the Divine" exhibition currently on display, the Musée des Arts Asiatiques-Guimet in Paris is offering a special program for the European Night of Museums focused on Cambodian art and culture. At 7 pm on Saturday, travel writer Marcel Cohen will present his latest book, Eloge de l'éléphant d'Asie ("In Praise of the Asian Elephant"), an unusual portrait of the pachyderm. From 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, six people committed to preserving Cambodian culture will share personal perspectives on selected works within the collection. And, in the Khmer courtyard, a performance by musician Mathias Delplanque, accompanied by three Khmer dancers led by Chap Chamroeunmina, star dancer of the Royal Ballet of Cambodia, will take place from 8 pm to 11 pm.
